SARS Interpretative Tax Policy Manager Job in Pretoria & Randburg
SARS is making an exciting opportunity available for a highly skilled, experienced and results driven Manager: Interpretative Tax Policy with sound judgement, strong business acumen and who ideally displays an ability to operate under limited supervision. The manager is expected to contribute towards our higher purpose and service orientation by interpreting, writing and reviewing opinions on, conducting research on, and applying tax law relating to personal income tax, pay-as-you-earn, donations tax and estate duty. The manager will be a subject matter expert on these taxes. Finally, s/he will manage a team of like-minded individuals focussing on selected projects intended to not only assist in reducing the tax gap but also in supporting governments tax compliance strategy.
Job Purpose
To manage a small team of consultants responsible to formulate the official SARS policy and practice with regard to the interpretation and application of the specified part of the revenue legislation administered by SARS that relates to PIT.
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualification & Experience Required
Relevant Bachelor’s Degree (LLB, BProc, BCom (Law) or BCom) / Advanced Diploma in Taxation (NQF 7) AND 8 – 10 years’ experience in a tax technical, tax legal or tax consulting environment, of which 3 – 4 years at a junior management level
OR
Senior Certificate (NQF 4) AND 15 years’ experience in a tax technical, tax legal or tax consulting environment, of which 3 – 4 years at a junior management level.
