Job Purpose
To provide the technical skills to support the optimal management and operation of all Data and Voice communication related infrastructure in the production environment as well as providing infrastructure-facing support processes to facilitate delivery of ICT Services through a Service Management System for managing of tickets for IT service requests and IT service outages as recorded or logged via all service channels.
Education and Experience
National Diploma/Advanced Certificate (NQF 6) in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering Light Current, with 2 – 3 years’ experience in a Network Operation Centre or IT Operations environment, of which 1 – 2 years at a knowledge worker level.
ALTERNATIVE#
Senior Certificate (NQF 4) and 5 years related experience in a Network Operation Centre or IT Operations environment, of which 1 – 2 years at a knowledge worker level.
Minimum Functional Requirements
- A 3-4 years practical experience in a Network Operation Centre or IT Operations environment, with 2 – 3 years in IP routing and switching experience; and CCNA certification. Proficient in the following technologies: Technical Knowledge of Routers, Wi-Fi Access Points, Switches; LAN Cabling, Voice Gateways, Protocols, Network Management Systems. ITIL Foundation Certification.
