SASSA Card deadline extended to 20 March 2025

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has extended the deadline for beneficiaries to swop their SASSA Gold Card for the Postbank Black Card . The deadline has been extended from 28 February to 20 March 2025 to give everyone enough time to apply for the new Postbank Black Card.

SASSA Beneficiaries are encouraged to change their cards as soon as possible and not wait for the last minute to do the change as this might cause further delays and long lines.

SASSA will also despatch mobile office in various rural areas to offer help so that everyone can be helped as soon as possible.

The 20th of March 2025 will be the last day that the gold cards will stop working, however people may still apply for the new Postbank Black Card even after the 20th of March 2025.
