Requirements :
- A basic R425 (i.e. Degree/Diploma in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional nurse. Registration with SANC as a Professional nurse. A minimum of 8 years appropriate experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with SANC in general nursing. At least 3 years of the period referred to the above must be appropriate/recognisable experience at management level. Experience in General Nursing care process and procedures, quality assurance, patient experience of care, Patient’s safety, infection control and relevant legal frameworks e.g. Ideal hospital realisation framework. Knowledge and insight into the relevant framework such as nursing act, scope of practise, and basic knowledge of the Labour Relations Act. Understanding of Public Service Regulations. Other Skills: Good ethical practices, caring attitude, quality patient care, multi – cultural, nursing advocacy, patient support, communication, planning, organisational, conflict and personnel management as well as administrative skills.
Duties :
- Ensure that the clinical nursing practice by the nursing team(area/facility) is rendered in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standard as determined by the relevant health facility. Promote quality demonstrate a basic understanding of the legislative framework governing the public service. Able to manage own work and that of that of units reporting to the post, and to ensure appropriate interventions to enhance nursing services. Delegate, supervise and coordinate the provision of effective and efficient patient care through adequate nursing care. Participate in the analysis, formulations and implementation of nursing guidelines, practices, standards and procedures. Monitor and ensure proper utilization of human financial and physical resources.
