Introduction
Area of specialization: Oversees the entire outage process including maintenance and projects with regards to communication and agreements with stakeholders, gris code compliance, corridor information, documentation and managing the medium and long term outage plan by prioritizing outages; determining risk and mitigation strategies, tracking progress against plan and reporting to management. Position/Task Grade: P18 Department: National Operations Business Unit: System Operator Location: Simmerpan, Germiston, Gauteng

Key Responsibilities

Technical management of the Outage function
Medium and long term outage plan (prioritisation, risk identification and mitigation).
Liaising with System Operating Control (SOC), Network Management Centres (NMC’s), Generation, Distribution and NTCSA Grids with regards to outage related matters, to ensure resolution on any problems.
System corridor information update.
Operational documentation.
NTCSA/Distribution, Metro and Koeberg Operating Agreements
Grid Code compliance

Minimum requirements
Qualification(s):
BSc /B Eng. in Electrical Engineering at NQF 8 with 480 credits
Professional Registration Body:
Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as professional engineer
Related Minimum Experience:
7 Years’ Plant technical experience
