Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointment to the Internship programme of the Electoral Commission, a state institution established in terms of Chapter 9 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa. Twenty-Four Months (24) contract at R10,441.00 per month
If you are looking to kick-start your Human Resources and Training career in a pre-eminent elections management body, this might be your role. We are currently looking for an intern to join our Human Resources team in the Northern Cape Provincial Office.
Key performance areas: A 24-month internship programme designed to provide recently qualified graduates with a unique opportunity to gain valuable skills in a supportive environment while learning on the job and acquiring much-needed work experience.
Exposure and training will be provided in the following areas where assistance is required:
Recruitment and Selection.
Probation and leave.
Performance Management.
Employee Relations.
Implement conditions of services.
Skills Development.
Assist with the following general administrative duties
Minute taking, report writing, routine enquiries.
Maintaining the filing system in Human Resources.
Compilation and distribution of documents / packages to stakeholders, including such tasks as required by supervisor
Maintaining incoming and outgoing correspondence in Human Resources.
Basic requirements
-Matric / Grade 12 / N3 / NTC Level 4 and a recognised 3-year tertiary Bachelor’s Degree or three-year National Diploma from an accredited tertiary institution in one of these fields: Human Resource Management / Labour Relations / Training and Development / Organisational Development (a post graduate qualification will be an added advantage).
-Have the ability to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally.
-Be computer literate and familiar with the Microsoft Office suite, i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
-Have the willingness to learn to work with new software and applications.
-Have the willingness to travel locally within the borders of the country.
It is preferred for the candidate to have a valid driver’s license.
The ideal candidate must have the following attributes

-Have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team under supervision.
-Confident in engaging with other role-players.
-Proactive.
-Demonstrate dedication to the tasks and willingness to work long hours, including weekends, when needed.
-Service driven.
-Good communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
