Netcare

The incumbent will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and operational support of the organisation’s enterprise payroll and remuneration system. This includes maintaining system parameters, payroll-related codes and tables, user security, and payroll-related reporting and extracts.
The role supports accurate and timeous payroll processing by assisting with testing of system changes, resolving payroll system queries, maintaining documentation, and supporting monthly and cyclical payroll operational activities within the HR Shared Services Centre.

KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

DISRUPTIVE INNOVATION

System Documentation and Administration

  • Maintain and update payroll system user guides, configuration documentation, and operational manuals.
  • Ensure payroll process documentation aligns with current system functionality and business practices.

System Security

  • Maintain payroll system access in line with approved security matrices and segregation of duties.
  • Perform regular reviews of user roles and access in accordance with SOPs and audit requirements.

System Administration

  • Maintain payroll system parameters, codes, tables, and legislative configurations.
  • Compile system change and configuration documentation.
  • Perform system testing and quality assurance on payroll-related enhancements and fixes in test environments.
  • Validate payroll outputs following configuration changes before production release.
  • Support production environments during payroll cycles where required.

Reporting

  • Generate standard payroll and remuneration reports.
  • Support ad hoc payroll data requests from HR, Finance, and Management.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation checks where required.

Payroll Structure and Position Management

  • Ensure alignment between payroll structures and HR master data.

System Support and Operational Tasks

  • Provide first- and second-line support for payroll system-related queries.
  • Assist with monthly, bi-weekly, or ad hoc payroll cycle activities as defined in task lists.
  • Support issue resolution during critical payroll periods.
  • Perform delegated tasks in support of payroll operational continuity.

User Development and Training

  • Communicate payroll system changes, enhancements, or process updates to stakeholders.
  • Assist with user guidance and knowledge transfer for payroll system functionality.
  • Contribute actively as a team member to support payroll operations and HRIS objectives.

Customer Focus and Service Delivery

  • The capacity to identify and respond to the needs of *internal and external customers.

SKILLS PROFILE

EDUCATION

Required

  • Grade 12
  • 3-year Tertiary Education in Information Technology or equivalent high advantageous

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Experience in the remuneration environment and / or a keen interest in remuneration and Human Resources Information System.
  • 1-2 years SQL server (or equivalent database query tools
  • Experience with payroll systems (Vision, Sage, Payspace)
