Requirements :
- Grade 12/ Matric or equivalent qualification. Basic qualification in terms of Government notice 425 i.e. Degree/Diploma equivalent that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse. Midwifery will be an added advantage. Must be currently registered with SANC. Good communication skills, basic writing skills, ability to function as part of a team, and good interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the nursing care process and procedures, ideal hospital realization framework, patient experience of care, patient’s safety, infection control and relevant legal frameworks, e.g. the Nursing Act, and the scope of practice.
Duties :
- Provide direction and supervision for the implementation of the nursing care plan, rendering quality patient care. Demonstrate knowledge and insight into the relevant legal framework, such as the Nursing Act, the scope of practice, and basic knowledge of the Labour Relations Acts. Demonstrate in-depth Knowledge of Infection prevention, control and legal frameworks. Assist in the completion of clinical records and ensure that data is entered timeously. Ensure that all ideal hospital realization framework and other health mandates during his or her shift lead are implemented. Advocate and facilitate proper treatment. Ability to effectively and efficiently manage resources allocated to the unit. Be a team leader. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards, self-development and CPD. Implement standards, practices, criteria and indicators for quality nursing care. Practice nursing and health care in accordance with the laws and regulations relevant to nursing and health care. Maintain a constructive working relationship with Nursing and other stakeholders.
