Requirements :

  • Appropriate degree/diploma in Nursing (General, Midwifery, Psychiatry, Community Health Science) or equivalent. Registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse (current year) Experience in a travel clinic environment or Travel Medicine certificate is an advantage. Must be willing to travel for campaigns within the districts, work irregular, and extended hours during diseases outbreaks. Valid driver’s licence and Computer literacy. Apply nursing legislation, ethical practices, and standards. Provide travel health services, Travel vaccination, Malaria chemoprophylaxis, and knowledge of the malaria elimination strategy 2028).Yellow Fever certificates (IHR 2005 compliance) Manage cold chain & vaccine storage. Stock management, deliver quality patient care and customer service, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams Compile reports, analyse data, and maintain accurate nursing records.

Duties :

  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical Nursing Practice and how these impacts on service delivery. Demonstrate effective knowledge of travel health, Travel Vaccines and Adult vaccination schedule, Provision of Yellow Fever Vaccines, issuing of valid Yellow Fever Certificates according to the International Health Regulation (IHR) 2005. Knowledge of Malaria Program and guidelines including malaria chemoprophylaxis and malaria program and understanding the malaria elimination strategy 2028. Management of cold chain and vaccine storage. Management of stock. Willing to learn from the supervisor and other health practitioners, Promote application of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices. Perform nursing duties in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards. Collect and analyze relevant data and compile reports.
